This set will complete the military stock set on SLR-95 rifles when you want to remove the thumbhole buttstock, and install the pistol grip and straight buttstock. This new buttstock fits any standard stamped receiver AK, and is made for Armory USA in Bulgaria. It is made of black polyamide (nylon) with 30% glass fiber filings for strength. This is the same material used on military fiber polymer stock sets, including the AK-74 making it strong and rigid. Designed by Ivan Kolev, this stock is professional and comfortable when shouldered. There are two reasons you want this stock; (1) Confort, this stock is one of the most comfortable polymer stocks made. It is also 1-1/4" longer than the standard wood or polymer stocks made for the military and fits like a sporting rifle. When you lift this rifle to your shoulder it automatically aligns with the sights. The pistol grip section has the widest hand opening of any stock to accomodate small or large hands. The surface is textured to give you a secure grip. (2) Since this is considered a thumbhole stock, you do not have to install US parts on a rifle currently fitted with a thumbhole stock. If you have a MAK90, a Maadi or a Romanian rifle with an uncomfortable thumbhole stock you cannot change to a pistol grip stock unless you install 5 to 6 US parts to comply with section 922(r). These parts will cost you $70-$90 plus the cost of the stock set. Because this thumbhole stock has the pistol grip in one piece there is no need to install additional parts.
